What is animal chiropractic?
Just like with people, animals can benefit from chiropractic adjustments as well. Whether it's your working dog, equestrian athlete partner, or house cat who is another member of your family, they can get misaligned from everyday activities like jumping off the couch or playing too hard with their animal friends. Each appointment, Dr. Emma will do an in-depth chiropractic evaluation to assess where your animal needs an adjustment. She may incorporate different ways of evaluation such as static and motion palpation, and/or gait evaluation.
How do I schedule a chiropractic appointment for my animal?
In order to provide the best care for your animal, Dr. Emma requires a veterinary authorization form to be completed and returned to her by your vet. This allows open communication between Dr. Emma and your veterinarian, should something arise that would require coordination of care. Once the form is completed and returned to her, you can proceed with scheduling an appointment for your animal to be evaluated and adjusted. Contact Equinox Chiropractic to start the scheduling process!
Why is it important to find a certified animal chiropractor?
It is important to find an animal chiropractor who is also a licensed veterinarian or human chiropractor who has specifically gone through the rigorous training process to obtain certification in order to keep your animal safe. If someone has not gotten certified through an accredited program, then your animal could easily get hurt or worsen if their care is not managed by a knowledgeable professional. Dr. Emma attended Options for Animals in Wellsville, Kansas in 2015, and after a rigorous 250-hour course she passed the IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association) certification exam. The IVCA and AVCA are currently the only two certification organizations recognized nationally and internationally.
